Talisman Training Ltd - We Make a Difference
The Talisman Logo
We believe that a logo should mean something, have some connection with the company and the company ethos and mission and be connected in someway to what we do. With these thoughts in mind, we spent some time trying to decide on a suitable logo for Talisman Training Ltd. Then during a training session on the four pillars of NLP, we got our logo.

I had drawn up the four pillars on a flip-chart and then to emphasise the importance of context when using NLP, had drawn a circle around the image. My co-trainer came up to me after that session pointed to the flip-chart and said "I think we have our logo".

So what does it mean?
The four pillars of NLP are: Outcome - Rapport - Sensory Acuity - Flexibility
These are underpinned by the ability of anyone using NLP to manage emotional states - To be in the best state you can, to achieve your outcome and use your skills to build rapport, be flexible and notice what is happening, etc.
Overarching the four pillars are the NLP operating beliefs.

We felt that the ethos, mission and training style of Talisman Training Ltd embodied all of these concepts when working with both corporate and public clients alike.

The four Pillars of NLP:

  • We will always have an outcome - which is to ensure that our clients and students achieve their outcome wherever possible.

  • We build rapport by listening and responding to what we see, hear and feel, to ensure that we work with a client or student to meet their needs.

  • We are open to noticing these needs through all our senses and will check our understanding of a clients/students needs often, to ensure an outcome is met.

  • We are flexible in our approach to clients and students, training design and delivery and can operate in the moment, or over time, to create the best possible learning environment for the development of knowledge skills and attitude.

State Management:

To perform at your best, you must be in the best emotional/psychological state you can be. When presenting, all our trainers are able, (as any excellent trainer should be), to enter high performance states. This ensures we provide clients and student with, one of the best learning experiences they will ever undertake in a classroom.

NLP Operating Beliefs:

The operating beliefs over arch the application of NLP and have been adopted from a number of individuals, who have excelled at their chosen profession, career, etc. There are a differing number of beliefs and interpretations to be found across NLP. However there are core beliefs or principles that drive what we do and how we do it. By working from this belief set, when working with others ensures that we respect the diversity of individuals and organisations and work with people to create and achieve the most appropriate outcomes.

And the circle?

As I said at the beginning of this explanation, the circle represents context, and reinforces our belief, that each individual, situation, client and student represents a unique set of circumstances, that may have many similarities operating within completely different contexts, and the context is always important.
Using NLP and working with others, requires that we always have the context of the situation in mind. Without understanding or knowledge of the context, how do we know what we are doing is right, ethical or even ecological?
